15th Annual Women In Mining & Career Expo

WiMSA in partnership with ITC is excited to launch our Adopt A University initiative at the upcoming 15th Annual Women in Mining & Career Expo which will be held on 21, 22 & 23 February 2024 in Johannesburg South Africa. 

Preparing students for the work environment has been a challenge for young  females entering the field of Mining and STEM. This initiative will allow students to not only get an insight of what it takes to build a successful future within the mining environment but also allow students to get an insight from women who have already made their mark within the industry. 

ITC together with WIMSA will live stream the entire conference proceedings to the relevant faculty within a chosen University at no cost to the students. Students will be able to access the conference packed with ground breaking presentations, as well as real life experiences for a full year via our portal.

How to be part of this initiative?

Organisations who register a group of 10 or more delegates to attend the conference will automatically qualify to adopt a University. ITC will make contact with your desired University and provide the necessary support to access the stream. Organisations will also have a chance to access these students to offer bursaries, opportunities & experience that fits within their companies’ Social  & Labour Plan (SLP).

• Exhibition Stand
• Corporate logo will appear on the rolling presentation
• Partnership acknowledgement on dedicated marketing material
• Display your company banners around the foyer and in the conference room
• Display your company products or demonstrations at your exhibition stand
• Intro video introducing your organisation as the 'Adopt a University Initiative Sponsor'

Why should you attend? 

There have been impressive strides made in gender parity within the mining industry over the past 14 years. African women have ascended in key positions making a difference in eradicating challenges that affect them within mining. With mines moving towards a more technologically savvy mining industry, it’s very important for organisations to upskill their workforce to work alongside technology.
